The stories of bravery behind every name on this yellow brick road

15/12/2025

A yellow brick road of dreams has been unveiled in Cardiff to mark the launch of the latest Wicked film and to support our charity. The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay is bringing festive magic to visitors this season while supporting our charity, which is dedicated to making unforgettable dreams come true for seriously ill children and their families.

The enchanting walkway not only provides a wickedly good photo opportunity but also celebrates the inspiring stories of children whose dreams have been granted by the charity – each honoured with their very own dedicated brick.

It was launched ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good and will be in place until Sunday, January 4.

Olivia Parsell, seven, from Penderyn, near Aberdare, was one of the children who went along to see her special brick. She is currently going through treatment after being diagnosed with leukaemia when she was three.

She was delighted to see her name on the walkway and her dad Andrew said he hoped it would help inspire others.

Tony Curtis MBE, founder of Dreams & Wishes charity, said: "We are absolutely delighted to see the Yellow Brick Road of Dreams bringing so much joy to visitors while helping to make our children's dreams a reality. As a 100% volunteer-based charity, the support from The Red Dragon Centre means the world to us and allows us to continue creating unforgettable moments for families when they need it most."

As part of its ongoing support for Dreams & Wishes charity, The Red Dragon Centre has also launched its ‘Toys for Dreams’ appeal, inviting customers to donate presents that are being delivered to local children spending time in hospital this Christmas.

"This season, we wanted to create something that spreads joy and kindness, celebrates the incredible work of Dreams & Wishes Charity, and complements the cinematic experiences our visitors love," said Emma Constantinou, spokesperson for The Red Dragon Centre. "There really is no place like The Red Dragon Centre this festive season!"
