Bringing smiles to twins with a special wish

Conjoined twins Marieme and Ndeye Ndiaye, who were expected to survive just days after their birth, have received a wonderful surprise from Dreams & Wishes.

The 10-year-old sisters, who attend school in Cardiff, have separate hearts and spines but share a liver, bladder and digestive system.

The girls had wished for some lovely new items to brighten up their bedroom, and Dreams & Wishes was delighted to make their wish a reality.

Their special delivery included beautiful heart-shaped pillows, new bedding, a television, cuddly toys and pretty pink heart pictures. A special wake-up clock was also included to bring even more light and colour into their room.

The girls were thrilled with their new gifts and couldn't wait to share their excitement.

When Dreams & Wishes chairman Tony Curtis delivered the presents to their home in Cardiff Bay, Marieme and Ndeye were full of smiles and gratitude.

They said: "Thank you so much to Dreams and Wishes. We love all of them. The heart-shaped pillows are lovely."

Tony said: "We are delighted to help the girls and their father with this wish. It was a delight delivering them and seeing the smiles on their faces as the presents for their bedroom were unwrapped.

"Thank you to everyone who donates, fundraises and volunteers for us – you help us to continue to put smiles on faces."

The lovely surprise also brought plenty of heart-warming messages from supporters, who were delighted to see the girls enjoying their special gifts.

One supporter commented: "Well done to Dreams and Wishes for making these beautiful girls happy."

Another added: "What polite, beautiful young girls. Keep smiling both."
