‘Thanks a Million’ initiative honours Dreams & Wishes


CardiffCityChequeCardiff City FC has renewed their support of Dreams & Wishes this week as they kindly donated a cheque at their ‘Thanks a Million’ dinner event.

Following their promotion to the Premier League, the football club have decided to celebrate by creating their ‘Thanks a Million’ programme, which will see them donate one million pounds to charities around the Cardiff area, for as long as they stay in the top league. read more

Newport County Youth Team plays for Dreams & Wishes

The team made their debut with the shirts on Saturday 28th July in front of their fans and Dreams & Wishes’ young ambassador Corris Davis, who has been invited by the club to represent the charity. read more

Daz White Completes Challenge to Climb Everest


IMG_1820Dreams & Wishes would like to say a huge thanks and congratulations to Daz White and his team from RAF Scampton for their latest fundraising efforts.

On 28th May, the team successfully climbed the vertical height of 8848m, the equivalent distance from sea level to the summit of Mount Everest in under 24 hours.

Using an indoor climbing tower, fourteen climbers took it in turns to take part in the challenge climbing the 6.5 metre tower up to 100 times within an hour, all in aid of raising vital funds for the charity. read more

Invitation to A Luxury Afternoon Tea Fundraiser


Dreams-&-Wishes-Champagne-afternoon-tea-invitationSian and the team here at Dreams and Wishes are delighted to announce their next fundraising effort, an exclusive afternoon tea at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff.

In association with charity supporters Fullcircle Ltd, the charity has organised an afternoon fit for a queen, on Friday 21st June.

All in aid of raising funds for the charity, the afternoon, which will begin at 2.30pm, will include all of the traditional elements of an afternoon tea such as fingers sandwiches, cakes and of course, tea, but it will be made all the more luxurious with champagne and special entertainment. read more

Wish Story: Three youngsters are treated to Premier League hospitality


SwanseavsMancDreams and Wishes board member Gregg Evans granted the wishes of three sick children last weekend when he hosted them and their fathers at a Premier League football match.

Hassan, Liam and Zach enjoyed VIP hospitality as they watched the game between Swansea City and Manchester City from one of the exclusive hospitality suites at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium.

The day was organised through the generosity of the Premier League and the staff at the stadium made sure that the youngsters and their fathers were treated to lunch before kick off and refreshments throughout the match. read more

Don & Shellie Cowie present Naina with a life-changing cheque


donshelliecowieCardiff City FC footballer Don Cowie and his wife Shelley have given one of our young ambassador’s a life changing gift following the charity auction at the D&W James Bond Gala Dinner last month.

Thirteen year old Naina, who has recently spent a lot of time in Cardiff Hospital after losing a leg to her illness, was presented with a cheque yesterday which will enable her to have a brand new prosthetic leg fitted.

Don and Shelley both attended the James Bond fundraising dinner and whilst there, the couple bid one of the auction prizes, a huge teddy bear. The charity have been working closely with Naina throughout her illness and had decided before the auction that the funds from this item would go towards helping Naina get her new leg. read more

Dreams and Wishes congratulate Cardiff City’s Promotion to the Premier League


cardiffcitycongratsAfter the fantastic news that Cardiff City is being promoted to the Premier League in the next football season, the kids at Dreams and Wishes decided they wanted to do something special for the team.

Charity board member, Kyriacos Asprou and the team went into Cardiff Hospital, once the promotion had been confirmed, to visit the children and helped them design and create a huge canvas to say ‘well done’ to the team.

Wish Story: Tech loving Alex gets his Iphone wish!


Alex IphoneA courageous fourteen year old boy has had his wish granted this week after Fullcircle’s managing director Marc Eckley has stepped in, once again, to help the charity.

Marc and the team at Fullcircle have recently become heavily involved with the charity after hearing about its work. Marc has already made one little boy’s dream come true after he built him a tree house in his garden and upon hearing Alex’s story, he jumped at the chance to help the charity again.

Alex’s family contacted Dreams and Wishes after he recently lost a leg to his illness, something which struck a chord with Marc because of his friendship with former paralympian John Harris who, through Marc, is now supporting the charity. read more

Dreams and Wishes James Bond Gala Dinner Is A Huge Success!


James Bond BoardLast week saw Dreams and Wishes host its latest fundraising event, an exclusive black tie Gala Dinner in celebration of 50 years of James Bond.

The event, which took place on Saturday 13th April, was held at the Hilton Hotel, Newport all in aid of raising money for the charity.

Over 150 guests attended the evening, where they enjoyed a 5 course meal before being entertained by the award winning John Oliver band. read more
