What COVID-19 means for Dreams & Wisheshttp://www.dreamsandwishescharity.org/wp-content/themes/osmosis/images/empty/thumbnail.jpg 150 150 Karen Matthews Karen Matthews http://0.gravatar.com/avatar/9bf0d7d6cf58cf55d20ee2b462ea7bfa?s=96&d=mm&r=g
For the families we support, COVID-19 has been and continues to be a heavy burden on those already carrying more than they should have.
We are (as are many others) facing challenging times, all fundraising events for the foreseeable future have been cancelled and thus, we have been forced to think of new ways to generate donations. As a 100% volunteer-led charity we are very fortunate that we have not had to worry about the cost of salaries for staff or fundraisers. Our core priority has remained the same: to grant wishes and to put #SmilesOnFaces.
18 wishes granted in May!
4 x I-pads
3 x phones
4 x Summerhouse/Playhouse
2 x Laptops
Plus many more
We are delighted that we have still been able to do this. However, we need your help, now more than ever to continue to do so.
Whether it’s making a one-off donation or taking part in one of our upcoming challenges, we would love for you to get involved.
Similarly, we are of course still accepting wish applications so if you feel we can help you or someone you know, do get in touch.
To all of our parents, we would like to remind you that we are here for you.
This is a unique time for us all but we are confident that we will not let it affect the vital work that we do.
We will continue to update our social media with photographs and messages sent to us by the children that have received their wishes.
