Celebrating St. David’s Day, children’s charity Dreams and Wishes paid a visit to Whitehall on March 1st 2012 to meet with both the Secretary of State and Speaker of the House of Commons. The charity greeted them with over 5,000 daffodils and hundreds of traditional Welsh cakes as a gift.

Alongside three members of the Queen’s Dragoon Guards (The Welsh Cavalry), dressed in full ceremonial reds, they made the trip to Whitehall for a VIP lunch in the company of the Speaker of the House. Afterwards, they went to Gwydyr House, where the Wales Office London is based, decorating it in fresh Welsh daffodils. read more

As an immense token of generosity, a Hollywood star dropped in to a hospital in Cardiff on December 20th to give sick children Christmas gifts in person. Actor William Moseley, 24, who has appeared in the Chronicles of Narnia series of films, visited a number of hospitals across the city giving presents to patients in children’s wards as part of a day-long tour with Dreams & Wishes, a children’s charity.

William toured hospitals with the charity, and was accompanied by members of the Welsh Guards. He spent the day speaking to star-struck patients, who clearly recognised him from his role as Peter Pevensie in the fantasy film franchise. read more

Martin Roberts gives up his time for Dreams & Wishes

We would like to send a huge thank you to the latest celebrity who has given up their time for us.

Martin Roberts, a famous face off BBC’s ‘Homes Under The Hammer’, gave up a day in his busy schedule to take a fantastic family out on his boat. Martin has been been a TV broadcaster for many year, having previously been involved with ITV’s top travel show ‘Wish You Where Here’. The property and travel expert is committed to his charity work and it was delighted to be able to support us.

The family who were treated to a great day out, are supporting a seriously ill child who is currently recovering from Cancer.

Martin’s boat is moored along the Totnes and Dartmouth estuary in Devon, and was able to take his guests up the river to Dittisham where they were able to relax and enjoy a fantastic lunch.

Martin’s contribution is just the latest in a line of famous faces who have supported our work. Recently we have worked with boxer Joe Calzaghe and Narnia star William Moseley.
